Damon Amendolara - D.A.
D.A. joined the WQAM team in Miami as host of "The D.A. Show" every weeknight 8p-11p in January '08. He brings a combination of weighty sports opinions, thought-provoking interviews and a healthy dose of laughs.
He has appeared on ESPN News' "Air Check" and the NFL Network's "Top 10" countdown series. D.A. also handles postgame "Fins Final" alongside former Dolphins Keith Byars and Keith Sims, heard state-wide on the Dolphins Radio Network.
D.A. came to the sunny shores of Florida after hosting the morning show at Kansas City's 610 Sports from August '04 through December '07. D.A. originally joined the station for its launch in September '03, initially anchoring the evening show, 6-9 p.m.
He has spearheaded the "Team D.A." charity, having raised over $5,000 for causes like the Boys and Girls Clubs, the Bridge Home, the KCMO Little League and Big Brothers/ Big Sisters. In July '09, Team D.A. organized a summer soccer camp coached by professional players of Miami FC for underprivileged youth in South Florida.
D.A. is also a guest host at Sportsradio 660 WFAN in New York, most recently in July '09. The D.A. Show began at Sportsradio 770 ESPN in Ft Myers-Naples, FL from 4-6 p.m. He was also the play-by-play voice of the Ft Myers Miracle, minor league affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. In addition he covered Red Sox spring training and handled pregame and postgame for the Florida Firecats of the Arena Football League.
D.A. graduated from Syracuse University in '01. At the 'Cuse, Damon was Sports Director at WAER Radio, following in the Orange footsteps of Marv Albert, Mike Tirico and Bob Costas. There he covered the Big East, while broadcasting SU football, basketball and lacrosse and received the '00 Syracuse Press Club Award for "Best Sports Radio Story."
He has also hosted the pregame and postame for the Rochester (NY) Rhinos Radio Network (USL soccer) and handled play-by-play for the Wake Forest Radio Network on the 2002 Preseason NIT Title Game.
D.A. is a native of Warwick, NY.
